The Pinal County Gem And Mineral Society meets every 3rd Wednesday at the Pinal Geology and Mineral Museum in the Artisian Village, Coolidge, AZ, September through May!


PCGMS holds nine informational and fun meetings a year, and usually has several field trips to collecting localities and other geological sites of interest. Nine newsletters are sent out annually, and the Society also acts as a Friends organization for the Pinal Geology and Mineral Museum.

It is a place where you can meet other rockhounds of all levels of experience, from those of us just starting our interest in rocks to professional geologists.

Recent meeting topics have included an overview of Meteor Crator, near Winslow, AZ, dinosaurs and other fossils, and a travelogue of worldwide geological travels.

Museum is open for us at 6:30pm, Meeting begins at 7:00pm.

Meetings consist of a small amount of buisnies, door prize drawings, and a speaker or presentation. There are refreshments following the presentation, and a silent auction is held each month with minerals, books, and other goodies usually offered. Main meeting usually lasts about one hour.

Location: Meetings are held at the Pinal Geology and Mineral Museum in within the Artisan Villiage in Coolidge, Arizona. If you use a gps, you can enter "351 N Arizona Blvd, Coolidge, Arizona" (N Arizona Blvd is Hwy 287).. The building is on the east side of N Arizona Blvd.

Parking and entry are through the gated parking area on W Pima Ave, immediately east of the building. W Pima is one block south of Northern Ave. Additional parking is in the small lot between N Arizona and the gate.

Adults, families, children are all invited. Begining hobbyists and seasoned professionals should find something of interest.

Membership is not required to attend meetings!
